This project was created for and won first prize at LTU's Alt+F4 Game Jam, themed "Rebooting".
This is an artistic piece made in Unreal Engine in 48 hours by myself and my good friend and fellow designer Matthew Vroman. The game features a jarring and constant cycle of different microgames referencing some of the important aspects of a person's life: Personal Time, Health, Work, Home Life, and Social Life. As these cycles continue, the elements of the microgames begin to bleed into each other, representing the inner struggles of one's true self.
While this is certainly not my most polished project, it is by far my most vulnerable. Since I began my game design career, I've always hoped to make a game this centered on the human experience, and I'm beyond proud to have accomplished this.
This is a genuinely great concept and surprisingly emotional, I was able to get pretty invested in this character in just 7 minutes. As someone who just got to uni (for game development) it really hit home, so I want you to know that this short jam project made a notable impact on someone and that this is great.
